Faux Metal

Some workshop results! We made some things using the faux metal techique, mostly with silver, which looks awesome...but the next day I was inspired to try it with some glittery gold embossing powder. I love it! Went a little "corner rounder crazy", but am very happy with this card.

Cracked Glass

A workshop result! I showed the cracked glass technique, faux metal technique as well as emboss resist. This card shows two of the three...it's easy to tell which is which! The large flower is embossed clear on white paper, with purple inked around the image (emboss resist), the background is displaying the cracked glass effect.

A Simple Template

Here are two different cards, both with a similar 'template', yet both looking different. This is an easy format (template) to use time and time again for a quick card with a classy look.

HOW TO:
Paper: Ruby Red, Pink Pirouette, Barely Banana, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Stamp Set: Nice and Easy Notes (retired)
Tools: Paper Cutter, Stylus, heat tool
Embellishments: glitter, dry embossing flower frenzy template, black embossing powder

Apologies on this picture, I tried 7 times from different angles/places and couldn't get the glare down. I think the glitter was making the flash go or something! It might be hard to see, but the yellow paper is crumpled and the pink strip of paper is tied in a knot.

HOW TO:
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, markers
Stamp Set: Nice and Easy Notes (retired)
Tools: paper cutter, stylus, heat tool
Embellishments: dry embossing flower frenzy, black embossing powder, caramel grosgrain ribbon, hodgepodge hardware

Heat Embossing

I was playing around with my new heat tool this weekend. Practicing faux metal, cracked glass...lots of things I have been dying to do! I made a couple simple cards. My next purchase is a Stamp-a-ma-jig. I am so bad at getting words perfectly straight and it annoys me to no end.

HOW TO:
Paper: Basic Black, misc blue (not SU), Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Stamp Sets: Holiday Blitz, Congrats (inside it says "welcome to the wedded bliss club")
Tools: Paper Cutter, 1" circle punch, 1 3/8" cirlce punch, heat tool, black embossing powder
Embellishments: Tombow adhesive, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Stampin Dimensionals

HOW TO:
Paper: Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Stamp Sets: Holiday Blitz, Fundamental Phrases
Tools: Paper Cutter, 1" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, heat tool
Embellishments: black embossing powder, Stampin' Dimensionals

Embossing & Glitter

HOW TO:
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark, Stampin Write Markers
Stamp Set: Simple Somethings (retired)
Tools: Paper cutter, corner rounder, 1 3/8" circle punch
Embellishments: Stampin Dimensionals, black embossing powder, whisper white grosgrain ribbon

This picture is washed out too much, but it's a really sweet card.
HOW TO:
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Lovely Lilac, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Creamy Caramel
Ink: Blush Blossom
Tools: Cirlce Scallop Punch, paper cutter, scissors, paper crimper, sponge daubers, heat tool
Embellishments: Stampin Dimensionals, heat & stick powder, dazzling diamonds glitter.

Poll Explanations

Paper Bag Scrapbook ($15) - there will be options for this one,

1. You can make a scrapbook (you would need to bring about 8 -10 pics)

2. You can make a baby book of colors (great gift!)

3. You can make a calendar (great gift!)

I will need to know your ink color choice in advance, you will get an inkpad to keep!

Card Layout Challenge ($25) - you will get a stamp set to keep, up to $21.95. I would need to know your choice in advance, or you can order there and get it later. If you want a set that is more than $21.95, you can just pay the difference. We will use our stamp sets and come up with 3 easy templates (layouts) for quick cards you can make for any occasion. This is a fun one, and really gets those creative juices going...plus it's nice to have so many people there to help you!

Pop Up & Pull Out Cards ($10) - we would make some "impressive" cards that pop up, waterfall, or pull out. Not your quick every day cards, but fun, cool and really impressive cards for special occasions or people.

Embossing Class

We will be learning 2 different types of embossing techniques, one with a heat tool, and one 'dry'. There is SO much that can be done with embossing, including scratch & sniff! Come and have some fun & fellowship! Please feel free to invite your friends, if you think they would enjoy it.

I have not quite decided exactly what we will be making, it will be at least 2 cards, or a card and a "3D" craft, like a pillow box. I am still coming up with cool stuff to show you! For those that RSVP I will update you later with pics etc, as to what I come up with:-) You are welcome to RSVP through the facebook event, by commenting on this post, or by emailing me (email link on left of blog, under the poll)
