Paper Folding Workshop

Date: Friday, Mar 27th
Time: 7:30 - 9:30
Cost: $10

What to bring:
Adhesive
Tape (regular clear scotch tape!)

We will be learning 3 different kinds of folds, each making a "pouch". And we will be making a card using a technique called Iris Paper Folding. At the end of the night you will have 3 pouches to take home and 1 card!! Cost includes baggies and candy to put in the pouches (chocolate covered coffee beans anyone?). These are extremely quick, easy and beautiful gifts for teachers, friends...whoever!!

Stationary Workshop is here!

Time to get busy and make some stationary boxes! There are more details and pictures here. The only change is the DSP (Designer Paper Series), I will be ordering this one for everyone: Urban Garden, as the Green Tea is no longer available in the new Catalog.
The main box will still be black, with a complimentary blue, green and grey paper theme. The paper is double sided (with prints above as shown), and each box will only need one whole sheet (12x12), so you can tell me your preference ahead of time, or maybe you can share a piece with a friend once at the class. But just giving a heads up that you will not have every option above available to you to mix and match, unless everyone is willing to share. Also a note about the adhesive...I will provide a heavy duty adhesive to hold the box together, you will need your own for the rest of the project. Glue stick is "ok" but a sticky-tape runner style is probably a better choice. If you would like to buy one from me let me know, and I will have it ready for you.

I will be walking you through this step by step (there will be very little room for creative changes, sorry ladies...exception to that is the cards that you make to go with it), so don't worry if you feel your crafty abilities aren't up to the task. You can do it! It's not as hard as it looks!

Date: Friday, February 20th
Time: 7:30 - 10:30 (this class is a little time comsuming...if you work at it you will be done by 10:30 for sure, if you visit a lot or take your time with decisions/changing things around it will take you longer...you are welcome to stay as late as you need to, I give the end time so you can know to plan your child care accordingly)
Cost: $15, if you place a $30 order (or book a party) the class is $10, if you place a $75 order, the class is free!

WHAT TO BRING:
Adhesive
Paper cutter (if you have it)

WHEN YOU RSVP:
You can rsvp for the Feb 20th workshop, or the March 20th workshop (Fri)...I know a lot of people are interested in this class, and I want everyone to have a chance to make it. You will leave the class with a completed box and the instructions, once doing it one time, you will be able to do it again pretty easily, it's that first time that it's hard to figure out. If you really want to do it, and neither of those days suit your schedule, please tell me, and you can come make it on another workshop day. I don't want you to miss out on it just because of a schedule conflict!!

MORE THAN ONE:
If you want to make more than one, you can buy a "kit", complete to take home with everything you will need. 1st kit is $15, and each subsequent one is $10. They make great gifts!

Old Catalogs for Sale

The new Idea Book & Catalog is here!! It is full of inspiration and ideas for cards, crafts, and scrapbooking. The new idea book is $10.

The "old" idea book (Fall/Winter 08), is now on sale for $4 while supplies last. I have about 5 of these left, and while the catalog portion is no longer current, I find the tips, tricks, and ideas extremely helpful! I think I have 6 or 7 old idea books dating back to 2005, and I love to browse through them and imitate projects I see!

Ask me if you haven't ever looked at an idea book and want to take a peek!

Sale-a-bration

Sale-a-bration begins Feb 1/09, and ends Mar 31/09! Don't miss out on this chance to get some free stamp sets!

With every order placed of $50, you may select a stamp set (or other - this year they are offering paper and ribbon too) from the Sale-a-bration catalog for free! There is no limit to this offer, ie: an order of $150 would earn you 3 free things.

Iris Paper Folding

I tried making a card using something I found online called Iris Paper Folding. It's not the prettiest, as I just used scrap paper, because I wasn't sure what I was doing or if it would turn out. It looks pretty nice though! It's easy and fun, and I will definitely try it again using better paper. There is actually no folding involved...strange...but fun. Patterns can be downloaded from various sites if you google it.

Thank You Tag

This summer while visiting my mom, I made a bunch of punched tags to take home, since I didn't have those stamp sets. Yesterday I decided I better start using them! I colored this image in with the blender pens and ink pads. I love the "tag" look!

HOW TO:
Paper: Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery, Really Rust
Ink: Certainly Celery, Summer Sun, Ruby Red, Perfect Plum, Basic Black
Stamp Set: (tag, unknown), Print Pattern (background)
Tools: Paper Cutter, Tag Punch, Organza Ribbon, Eyelet punch, blender pens, heavy duty sewing needle

Pocket Pouch

This is pouch is a folded piece of 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardstock. It's really adorable for a little thank you gift etc. I think I will teach it at a party or class!

Penny Spinner

This is a "penny spinner" card...with a flying bee! This idea is so cute for bees, butterflies, snowflakes etc.

I think I will plan a future workshop to make some of these fun cards!
