These are some of the tea bag holders made by class attendees. They ALL turned out GREAT. I only have a couple pics. So happy they all look so good!

May Class - Tea Time!
This month we'll be making this adorable little tea bag holder, perfect to set out on your counter! It's cute, and handy for making all that sweet tea this summer! It would also make an adorable gift. As with all my classes, once you attend you will get the instructions to make this again on your own!
I will be designing a new "front" using the words "sweet tea" - instead of just the teapot, for those that don't drink hot tea. I'll post pics here soon!
DATE: Friday, May 20th
TIME: 7:30
COST (will include tea for the inside too!): $10 (if you bring your own sticky strip) OR $13 (if you use my sticky strip)
I will be pre cutting and scoring this for you, so everything is ready to go! - we will be making the base out of choc. chip cardstock, and the paper patterns in either "Woodland Walk" or "Greenhouse Gala". Take a look at the pics, and please specify which of these you like (IE which colors will match your kitchen - if none of these do, please tell me, we can work with other options, I have LOTS of paper!).
Please ask if you have any questions! Can't wait to see you there!!

Jan 21/11 Class - Sneak Peak
This class is $20 for 20 cards (add $5 for envelopes). I will be adding a few more (and little 3x3's too), but this is the "main event" of selections. I will add a link of more pics HERE, if I add any more cards.
If you are unable to attend the class, but would still like this great deal, you can order a kit of the cards you want - you'll get everything you need except the adhesive. You can assemble everything on your own time, and still have great handmade cards to give out!! *just tell me what you want ie: 3 men b-day, 2 child bday "dots", 1 cupcake bday etc*
OR for an additional $5, I will make all the cards you order for you, so you have nothing to worry about except mailing them out on time!
The idea is to make all the cards you would need for the year, at one time. If I am missing an event that you have coming up, let me know. I'll either make a new layout or adjust one of these. I have lots of sayings, congratulations, etc.
When I was finished this card and cleaning up, I dropped the open yellow ink pad on it, when I was trying to close it. It landed ink down, of course! So to cover my mess, I repeated that look multiple times, so it wouldn't look like an accident. Your card will be "normal" unless you mess it up like me!

"Art" Class
This month we will be doing something a little artistic! It will be fun, inexpensive, and look gorgeous in the end!
However, there is a catch! It will require some thought (I know, terrible, right?:-)
This is the general IDEA -
DECISION 1: Color scheme. Consider which room you might be putting this in, and pick some colors HERE (online catalog, pages 167-171 for colors). I would suggest about 3 colors, no more than 5 (you don't want it too busy)
DECISION 2: Theme. I picked the butterfly & flower from "For All You Do" page 105 (online), the outline from a stamp set set no longer available (but I can still get that image). I would suggest browsing online from pages about 100 - 124. Keep in mind that you are looking for solid images...we are cutting them out by hand, and then decorating them, so unless you buy that stamp set, we are not actually stamping any images here (they will be printed out, and then cut out)
DECISION 3: Where will you put this/what size will it be? This is entirely up to you! If you have an old frame, and want to put it in there (can even go under glass), than make sure you are making it the correct size. If you have a spare easel type stand, than it might not matter what size you make it , but still, think about it and let me know. My butterfly one is slightly larger than 9x9.
DECISION 4: This is especially if you are an experienced stamper - however - this applies to everyone. The more you have a vision in your head of what you want, the less time it will take you to make it. Find a picture of something to copy perhaps, and stick to it (copying it as closely as you can). Think about what techniques you want to incorporate, and we can get it done in no time! The catalog is full of inspiration, and they are for sale for $10 ea, or you can look online too (same thing) - My butterfly art is mostly stamped patterns, sponging, and in a few places, some heat embossing...and LOTS of cutting!! Example - if you wanted to copy mine almost exactly, it would take you about 3 hrs to make. If you need to think up all kinds of things on the spot, it's going to take you a lot longer. So think about what you like (one polka dot, one embossed, 3 sponged etc), and formulate a plan. If you can't get it done in one evening, we'll do a "take two" and you can come finish!
OPTIONS: You can look through the more "kid" styled ones, or purchase chipboard letters (of your child's name etc) to decorate.
COST: The cost will be $10, and include a pack of paper (will likely be a multipack - that I combine - with each of the colors you selected), and then the additional cost is for my beads, ribbons, embossing powder, crystal effects, sponge daubers, dimensional, etc.
(options: should you choose to order a stamp set, or chipboard letters, you can add that cost to the $10, with no tax or shipping charged!)
WHEN: October 29th, 7pm - I realize this date is close to Halloween (parties??), if you want to come and the date is the only reason you cannot attend, please msg me and let me know. We can also do the 22nd or 23rd...I would just like to give you all as much time as possible to sort out your thoughts on what you want to make!
However, there is a catch! It will require some thought (I know, terrible, right?:-)
This is the general IDEA -
I have this piece of decor, (made by me!), in my livingroom. Mine is simply shapes cut out of cardstock, decorated, and stuck to more cardstock (displayed on a easel-style 'frame'). |

Card Organizer
This will be the next class we do, in September. Details to be announced. This book is made from chipboard and an o ring. I am actually not a huge fan of my cover. I think will tear it off and do it again. I was going for whimsy, but I guess I don't do whimsy very well:-) I'll leave it for now and see if it grows on me,otherwise, I'll need to do something a little nicer.
The purpose of the book is to hold cards ready to use for birthdays and anniversaries. Whether you make your cards, or purchase them, this will keep you on the ball and organized! |
An example of an inside page. I am still debating embellishing with some Big Shot die cut flowers or something. For now, I am leaving it plain... |
The flaps are held closed with velcro, so you can make your cards ahead of time and have them ready for the perfect occasion! |

Slider Album Make-up Class
I know that many of you wanted to attend this class (in Feb) but were unable to make it. I am offering a make-up class for those of you that couldn't come the first time around. I am also offering a 2nd round, for those that did come and maybe want to make another. I know they all turned out so gorgeous! (click here for pics) If you have a friend you would like to invite, please let them know! Here are the details for both options:
2nd round: (you are second round if you own the instructions)
Come and bring your own cardstock, designer paper, and sticky strip. I'll provide the embellishments etc like last time. Cost: $7. You can use whatever designer paper you want, but you have to use Stampin' Ups 80lb cardstock, so if you don't have that (or want a different colour), then add 5.50 to the cost for a pack of paper. If you want I will pre-cut it for you again, OR I can talk you through it and you can try to cut it yourself!
First time attendee: Same deal as the class in Feb.
We will be making a Double-Slider Album, and it holds about 19 to 21 pictures. (I purchased these instructions from another SU demonstrator that invented it. I did not come up with this on my own, but it's ingenious!) Take a look at the pics, it's really cool! (it flips over and hold more on the back side too) The neat thing about it too, is it can be made and then decorated/pictures placed in at a later time, it doesn't have to be totally completed all at the same time.
Instead of just charging a cost for the class, as I normally do, this one will be a little different! It might be a little more money than you are used to a class being, BUT you will come away with lots of stuff that is yours to keep! Here is the breakdown of the things you will purchase (and use to build your album...obviously there will be lots of leftovers, we aren't using an entire pack of paper etc.):
Your choice of: 1 pack of SU cardstock (24 sheets) = 5.50
Your choice of : 1 pack of SU Designer Series Paper (12 double sided sheets) = 9.95
1 roll of Sticky Strip = 6.95
& 7.60 to cover the additional paper, buttons, embellishments & ribbon needed for each project. I will make sure that I have all the coordinating colors to match your paper selections.
You will also get printed instructions on how to recreate the album on your own at home.
TOTAL COST = $30
Again, although that sounds pricey, keep in mind of all the things you will have leftover to play with at home! Also bear in mind that I am not charging shipping or tax for these orders. So it's a really good deal!
If you have a Catalog, check out the paper choices, or click here http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/16192.asp and download the catalog (2009/10 Idea Book & Catalog). Cardstock colors start on page 157-159. Designer Paper starts on page 162 - 165.
So you can make your paper selections based on your idea for a theme for the album. Having pictures with you at class is not necessary, but it's ok to bring them if you have them ready!
RSVP for both options:
First time: I will need an rsvp by about April 6th, to give me time to get the order in and delivered in time for the class! I will be opening your cardstock package ahead of the class and pre-cutting a few things for you to save on time.
2nd round: Give me an idea of a yes by April 6th, with your colours just to make sure I don't have to order something embellishment wise for you. If you need cardstock, then definitely by April 6th.
WHAT TO BRING:
Regular tape runner adhesive - required
BRING IF YOU HAVE: - will save you time on sharing
Paper Cutter
Scissors
Cropadile
NOTE: If any of you would ever like to host a class in your home with your friends, I am willing to do that! Depending on the project you want to make, will dictate space, but we can discuss that!
2nd round: (you are second round if you own the instructions)
Come and bring your own cardstock, designer paper, and sticky strip. I'll provide the embellishments etc like last time. Cost: $7. Slider Album - Feb Class

When: Friday, Feb 19th
Time: 7pm - 10pm
Where: my home
It's time to get back together for some crafting now that the holiday season is behind us!
I thought we would kick off the year by making a photo album (would be a great Mothers Day gift, or a wonderful coffee table album of a recent vacation etc)...it's called a Double-Slider Album, and it holds about 19 to 21 pictures. (I purchased these instructions from another SU demonstrator that invented it. I did not come up with this on my own, but it's ingenious!) Take a look at the pics, it's really cool! In addition to the class, I would just like to make you all aware of SU's annual Sale-a-bration sale, happening now through March. This means for every $50 of product you purchase, you get something from the sale-a-bration catalog for free! (mostly stamp sets, but there are some other things available too). There is no limit to the free items (ie: $100 order = 2 free things). Click the link I referrenced above and download the pink s.a.b. catalog to see the free choices!!
I mention this now, as some of you have mentioned placing an order during s.a.b. to get some extra stuff free...if you place your order by the 3rd with your rsvp, I will combine the 22.40 you are already spending towards the items for the class. So you would just have to make up the difference, and also, only pay shipping & taxes on the portion of your order beyond the 22.40 (if that makes sense? Ask me if not!!)...so it's a pretty good deal!! Please ask me if something is not clear and I will attempt to clarify!
If you are not able to attend the class on the 19th, but still want in on this deal, RSVP and tell me you want to do it, but can't make that date. I will get you all your supplies and the directions to make it on your own etc. Cost would remain at $30.
It's going to be FUN!! Can't wait to see you all again and Stamp-em-up!

October's Class
I am trying to determine what you might be interested in doing in October:
Date: Friday, Oct 23rd, 7:30pm
Please comment here with your craft preference!
OPTION 1: A template, how-to class, includes your choice of stamp set to take home. Approx cost $25.
OPTION 2: A make up class where you can make stationary boxes, or catch up on any of the other things we have done in the past that you missed out on and really wanted to learn. Browse my site for things you might have missed.
OPTION 3: A coaster calendar making class. See my website for pictures of the one I made, or ask me to see it in person, it is way too cute for words. This would cost about $20, as I have to purchase a lot of coasters online (not SU product), and each person needs 13 for their calendar, so that is a lot of coasters!! It's a great gift.
OPTION 4: Tell me your idea.

Baby's Book of Colors
Here is an example of a paper bag scrapbook, which we will be making in class on June 12th. I tried to make one last night, my first time! It turned out well, I think. Apologies, as the ribbon on the front is not SU, but it matched pretty well, so I thought I would use it. This front cover is a little more "boy" I suppose.
Also, I haven't placed my order for all the matching papers and inks I want to use, this was sort of a test run to see which colors would be best. I also don't have all these inks yet, so versamark and the pastels came in handy to keep everything matching!! Anyway, now that I'm done my "test" I can get my paper and ink order together!! I think we will pull out green, turquoise & purple, to keep the side ribbons more interesting...of course, people can do whichever they want, but I think that's how I'll do mine.
Cover, ribbon is not Stampin Up.

Orange, Yellow & Green, pulled out with a ribbon

Red, Black & White

Pink, Blue & Light Green pulled out

Purple on the back. There is a light brown inside (a pull out) the stamped image is a tie, but I didn't get it pictured. The ribbon is organza on that one and hard to see in the pics.

BRING:
1) Adhesive!! We will be using quite a bit of it this time, so don't forget it.
2) If you would like to make a scrapbook, bring approx 10 pictures to make your album. Maybe all from a vacation, or all from the t-ball season etc. If you are having your digitals printed, I like to do a few b&w for some variety. There is places to "pull out" things in this book, so including ticket stubs or similar might be a fun thing to bring to pull out. I have a variety of Designer Paper that should work with lots of color schemes.
3) Paper cutter and scissors to share if you have them.

Faux Metal
Cracked Glass
A workshop result! I showed the cracked glass technique, faux metal technique as well as emboss resist. This card shows two of the three...it's easy to tell which is which! The large flower is embossed clear on white paper, with purple inked around the image (emboss resist), the background is displaying the cracked glass effect.

Poll Explanations
Paper Bag Scrapbook ($15) - there will be options for this one,
1. You can make a scrapbook (you would need to bring about 8 -10 pics)
2. You can make a baby book of colors (great gift!)
3. You can make a calendar (great gift!)
I will need to know your ink color choice in advance, you will get an inkpad to keep!
Card Layout Challenge ($25) - you will get a stamp set to keep, up to $21.95. I would need to know your choice in advance, or you can order there and get it later. If you want a set that is more than $21.95, you can just pay the difference. We will use our stamp sets and come up with 3 easy templates (layouts) for quick cards you can make for any occasion. This is a fun one, and really gets those creative juices going...plus it's nice to have so many people there to help you!
Pop Up & Pull Out Cards ($10) - we would make some "impressive" cards that pop up, waterfall, or pull out. Not your quick every day cards, but fun, cool and really impressive cards for special occasions or people.

Pocket Pouches
We had so much fun at the last workshop/class! The focus was paper folding. We learned how to make an envelope out of regular paper, how to make a pocket pouch, and how to make an exploding card. I had some chocolate covered coffee beans left over, so instead of eating them all (!) I made a few pouches for some of the ladies that normally come but couldn't attend that night.
Super quick, simple, and adorable.
